我們很容易把「認識很多人」，誤認成自己擁有很多人脈。

參加商會、交換名片、聊合作，彼此都說「之後一定有機會」。可是幾個月過去，合作沒有發生，甚至連一句明確的拒絕都沒有。

我愈來愈覺得，真正消耗人的往往不是被拒絕，而是一段關係永遠停留在「好像有下一步」。

一項刊登於《Nature Communications》的大型研究發現，主觀的孤獨感與客觀的社會孤立，兩者之間的相關其實很低。這也提醒了我：身邊有很多人，不代表我們真的與人產生連結。

商業也是如此。

別人說認同你的理念，是態度；願意付費、合作，甚至把自己的信用放進來替你轉介，才是行動。友情當然不能只用利益衡量，但真正重要的關係，同樣看得見時間、注意力與承擔。

而比這更深的一層是：很多人可能認識你的「功能」，卻不一定真正認識你。

他知道你是老師、主管、專業工作者，知道你可以解決什麼問題；可是當你沒有答案、不再有用，甚至只是很普通地做自己的時候，還有多少人知道你是誰？

這一集，我想從最近參加商會與社交活動的經驗出發，重新談談「人脈」與「連結」的差別。

不是每一段認識都要變成合作，也不是每一段關係都必須走得很深。真正重要的是：不要把可能性，提前當成已經擁有。

人脈，是有人知道你能做什麼。

真正的連結，是當你暫時什麼都做不了，仍然有人知道你是誰。
