"Стихи Льва Лосева, попавшись мне впервые на глаза давным-давно в парижском журнале “Эхо”, сразу подействовали на меня как выпитый залпом стакан водки: я только округлил глаза и выдохнул (кстати, первый раздел его первой книги и называется “Памяти водки”). Роднило огненную воду и эту лирику мигом накатывавшее ощущение легкости и свободы — языковой свободы: так литература дает читателю знать, что автор справился со скованностью и предрассудками литературных общих мест и отныне сам держит ответ за свои слова. И я начал выискивать в оглавлениях изредка попадавших в наш товарищеский круг эмигрантских журналов знакомую фамилию с академически-философским привкусом."
