Authorities still searching for suspect in shooting of 2 Minnesota state lawmakers: Hundreds of law officers searched a Minneapolis suburb Saturday for Vance Boelter, a 57-year-old man accused of impersonating a police officer and fatally shooting Democratic former House Speaker Melissa Hortman in what Gov. Tim Walz called “a politically motivated assassination.”

Authorities said Boelter also wounded Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, and was believed to be fleeing the area. Investigators found “No Kings” flyers and writings in his car naming the victims and other lawmakers, including those who support abortion rights. The FBI offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to Boelter’s arrest, and officials issued safety warnings to other elected leaders.

Massive 'No Kings' Protests Sweep U.S. on Trump’s Birthday: Millions marched in cities across the U.S. on June 14 to protest President Trump’s immigration policies, military actions, and perceived authoritarianism. The “No Kings” demonstrations were largely peaceful but saw clashes in Los Angeles, Portland, and Salt Lake City, where one person was shot.

Protesters filled streets in Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, and more, chanting pro-democracy messages and denouncing Trump. In D.C., a golden-toilet Trump puppet led chants during a military parade celebrating the Army’s 250th anniversary and the president’s birthday.

Organizers called it a nationwide stand: “We don’t do kings.”

Death toll grows as Israel and Iran trade attacks for third day: Israel and Iran exchanged missile attacks for a third straight day Sunday, killing dozens and deepening fears of a wider war as Israel struck Iran’s nuclear and military sites, while Iranian missiles caused civilian casualties across Israel. Among those killed were Iran’s top missile commander and several senior generals, prompting Tehran to open metro stations and mosques as bomb shelters and warn of continued retaliation.

President Trump denied U.S. involvement but warned Iran of overwhelming military force if it targets American interests, while Israel signaled further strikes and urged civilians to evacuate weapons facilities. As the death toll rose and cities in both countries suffered major damage, planned nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran were canceled, pushing hopes for diplomacy further out of reach.
