On Monday night, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social calling on people to vote for Cuomo over Sliwa to ensure Mamdani does not win.Voters in New Jersey and Virginia will also choose their next governors. Current Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears of Virginia is taking on Democrat Abigail Spanberger in Virginia, while in New Jersey, it's Republican Jack Ciattarelli versus Democrat Mikie Sherrill for the state's top job.
The US federal government shutdown reaches a milestone on Tuesday, matching the record for the longest in the country's history and expected to continue with no end in sight, as Republicans and Democrats remain at an impasse.
