La UE congela indefinidamente los activos rusos en Europa
Rusia ha declarado que la congelación ilegal de activos rusos por parte de la UE provocará rápidas contramedidas. La portavoz del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de Rusia, María Zajárova, afirmó que cualquier disposición de los activos soberanos de Rusia sin el consentimiento de este país es un acto ilegal, y que la respuesta de Rusia no se hará esperar.La UE acordó el 12 de diciembre congelar indefinidamente los activos del banco central ruso depositados en Europa, bloqueando unos 210.000 millones de euros. Su objetivo es utilizar los fondos para cubrir los gastos militares y las necesidades financieras de Ucrania hasta 2027.
El Banco Central de Rusia ha anunciado que ha presentado una demanda contra Euroclear, acusando a uno de los mayores depositarios de valores de Europa de bloquear ilegalmente su acceso a los fondos.
