UKRAINE-KRIEG: Selenskyj fordert vor G7-Gipfel mehr Druck auf Russland

Der ukrainische Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj hat vor dem G7-Gipfel in Kanada die führenden Industrienationen zu mehr Druck auf Russland aufgerufen. Trotz aller Versprechungen von Kremlchef Wladimir Putin den USA und anderen Friedenswilligen gegenüber greife Russland weiter zivile Energieanlagen in der Ukraine an, sagte Selenskyj nach einem Treffen mit Militärs. «Dieser Terror wird immer heimtückischer», sagte er.

Der Präsident warf Russland vor, die derzeitige Aufmerksamkeit für den Krieg zwischen dem Iran und Israel für Angriffe auf die Ukraine zu nutzen. «Es gibt keine Anzeichen dafür, dass sich in Moskau jemand darauf vorbereitet, den Krieg zu beenden oder die Diplomatie ernst zu nehmen», sagte er.

Selenskyj teilte mit, dass Kiew auch Informationen über eine russische Bedrohung der Infrastruktur für die Produktion von Kernenergie in der Ukraine an die Internationale Atomenergie-Behörde IAEA und an die USA weiter gegeben habe. Details nannte er nicht. Es sei zynisch, dass ausgerechnet Putin versuche, sich als Vermittler im Nahen Osten ins Spiel zu bringen.
