Украинские артиллеристы проходили интенсивное обучение на немецких военных полигонах — полтора месяца практически без перерывов. Это было нелегко, особенно для механиков, которым пришлось изучить каждую мелочь внутри и снаружи, чтобы правильно обслуживать систему до и после боёв.
