"Uno dei segnali più concreti di questa collaborazione è stata, in questi mesi, l'apertura a Roma dell'ufficio dell'International Finance Corporation. La presenza stabile dell'International Finance Corporation nella nostra Capitale non è un fatto simbolico. È una scelta strategica. Significa creare un ponte operativo tra il sistema produttivo italiano, i mercati africani e gli strumenti finanziari del Gruppo Banca Mondiale. Vuol dire facilitare l'incontro tra imprese, investitori e progetti bancabili. Significa rafforzare la capacità di mobilitare capitale privato verso iniziative ad alto impatto occupazionale. Vogliamo che Roma diventi uno snodo europeo per gli investimenti in Africa, un luogo nel quale pubblico e privato lavorano insieme per trasformare buone idee in posti di lavoro. Perché il punto centrale, per noi, di nuovo, è questo: il lavoro. Lavoro dignitoso, stabile, di qualità. Lavoro che consenta ai giovani africani di costruire il proprio futuro nella propria terra". Così la premier Giorgia Meloni intervenendo al convegno 'Laying the groundwork for jobs in Africa: core infrastructure & business environments', organizzato presso la sede centrale della Banca d’Italia a palazzo Koch dalla Banca Mondiale e dalla presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri.
