Nhận lời mời của Tổng Bí Thư Nguyễn Phú Trọng, Tổng thống Nga Vladimir Putin sẽ thăm Việt Nam trong hai ngày 19 và 20-6. Chuyến thăm diễn ra trong bối cảnh hai nước kỷ niệm 74 năm thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao.
Ngày 30-1-1950, Liên bang Cộng hòa Xã hội chủ nghĩa Xô Viết (gọi tắt là Liên Xô) chính thức thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao với Việt Nam Dân chủ Cộng hòa (nay là CHXHCN Việt Nam).
Hơn 7 thập niên qua, tình hữu nghị giữa nhân dân Việt Nam với nhân dân Liên Xô trước đây và Liên bang Nga ngày nay luôn nồng ấm và chân tình.
Năm 2001, Nga trở thành Đối tác chiến lược đầu tiên của Việt Nam, đến năm 2012, hai nước thiết lập quan hệ Đối tác Chiến lược toàn diện.
Chuyến thăm Việt Nam lần này là một trong những chuyến thăm nước ngoài đầu tiên sau khi Tổng thống Putin nhậm chức nhiệm kỳ mới. Đây là dịp để 2 nước củng cố quan hệ chiến lược, tiến tới kỷ niệm 75 năm thiết lập quan hệ Việt Nam - Nga. Điểm lại những hoạt động ngoại giao nổi bật của hai nước trong 74 năm qua.
