PLO | 300.000 lính NATO sẵn sàng thực chiến khi căng thẳng giữa Nga - NATO gia tăng.Ngày 13-6, hãng tin AFP dẫn lời một quan chức cấp cao của Tổ chức Hiệp ước Bắc Đại Tây Dương (NATO) rằng các quốc gia thành viên liên minh quân sự do Mỹ dẫn đầu đã vượt qua mục tiêu đặt 300.000 lính liên minh trong tình trạng sẵn sàng cao độ.
Sau khi Nga phát động chiến dịch quân sự đặc biệt ở Ukraine năm 2022, các lãnh đạo NATO nhất trí tăng lực lượng mà các chỉ huy liên minh có thể triển khai trong vòng 30 ngày.
“Các đề nghị trên bàn đàm phán từ các đồng minh đã vượt quá con số 300.000 mà chúng tôi đặt ra. Đó là những lực lượng mà các đồng minh đã nói với chúng tôi rằng: ‘Hiện tại họ đã ở mức độ sẵn sàng đó'” - quan chức này cho hay.
Việc tăng cường lính liên minh sẵn sàng phản ứng nhanh là một phần trong kế hoạch cải tổ rộng lớn của NATO được ký kết tại hội nghị thượng đỉnh của liên minh vào năm ngoái. Những kế hoạch này lần đầu tiên được đặt ra kể từ khi kết thúc Chiến tranh Lạnh mà mỗi thành viên trong liên minh do Mỹ dẫn đầu sẽ phải thực hiện trong trường hợp xảy ra chiến tranh với Nga.
