Unique Void Hunter Build vs -50 Solo GM Alert (Phantom Surge & Trapper's Ambush) [Destiny 2]
Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph - Solo Flawless Grandmaster Alert Birthplace of the Vile w/ Phantom Surge & Trapper's Ambush Void Hunter Build. Just a video showing a solo flawless clear of the GM alert this week, clearing it with a fun and unique Phantom Surge & Trapper's Ambush. Details and thoughts below.00:00 - The Run
18:37 - Loadout & Modifiers
This was a build suggested to me in the comments via somebody named Melody-Sweet a few weeks back. It was one of the more unique Void Hunter builds I'd heard of, building around both Phantom Surge with Trapper's Ambush and making it work surprisingly well even in -50 content. I did have Brawler and Glass Cannon on for this run which makes it perform a bit better than it otherwise would, but even without those modifiers it holds up surprisingly well. I also didn't have the perfect stats or setup to make it work, trying to grind the stats you want is a pain, and ideally I would've liked to have a bit more super so I could tether more groups of enemies.
Regardless, while it excels in clearing groups of enemies, even on single target it doesn't perform too badly at all. The first phase of the final boss was a bit of a mess, but in the later phases I figured out how to handle it better which helped speed things up a bit. And even it may not be the absolute strongest or broken build, it's still a very fun way to play and viable for this type of content regardless of the modifiers.
