E é co-fundador do Grupo de Estudos sobre o BRICS da Universidade de São Paulo, (GEBRICS/USP).
-Alexandre Coelho é doutor em Relações Internacionais pela USP, mestre em Direito pela FGV e especialista em Política e Relações Internacionais pela Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Política de São Paulo (FESPSP), onde atualmente coordena o curso de Pós-Graduação em RI . É também secretário do Comitê de Pesquisa em Estudos Asiáticos e do Pacífico da International Political Science Association (IPSA), pesquisador Sênior no Centro de Geoeconomia de Comércio e Investimentos da Escola de Economia da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-SP) e coordenador da Unidade de Análise Geopolítica do think tank Observa China.
