GOWA, KOMPAS.TV - 52 pendaki di Gunung Bawakaraeng, Kabupaten Gowa, Sulawesi Selatan mengalami hipotermia. Satu orang di antaranya meninggal dunia pada Minggu (17/08/2025).
Seorang pendaki bernama Irfan, yang berusia 24 tahun mengalami hipotermia saat mengikuti perayaan Hari Ulang Tahun Kemerdekaan ke-80 RI di puncak Gunung Bawakaraeng, Kabupaten Gowa, Sulawesi Selatan.
Tim SAR gabungan pun segera mengevakuasi pendaki ini. Evakuasi berlangsung dramatis karena licinnya jalur pendakian akibat hujan yang terus mengguyur kawasan sekitar.
Basarnas Makassar bilang, total ada 52 orang mengalami hipotermia karena suhu yang rendah dan sangat ekstrem di puncak Gunung Bawakaraeng.
Tercatat kurang lebih 40 ribu pendaki dari berbagai daerah mendaki puncak Gunung Bawakaraeng. Tim SAR pun mengimbau kepada para pendaki yang masih tersisa untuk lebih berhati-hati.
Atau lebih baik membatalkan niat ke puncak gunung, sebab cuaca sedang tidak bersahabat di kawasan Gunung Bawakaraeng.
