Jules Verne, insanoğlunun gördüğü en büyük dehalardan biridir. Çünkü o, 1800'lü yıllarda yaşamış olmasına rağmen, uzaya nasıl çıkılacağından internete kadar pek çok şeyi tahmin edebilmiş ve bu konularda şaşırtıcı derecede kusursuz öngörülerde bulunmuştur. Onun kitapları Türkçe'ye en çok çevrilen kitaplar olmakla kalmamış Atatürk bile ondan etkilenmiştir.
