Yozgat Bira Fabrikası'nın sıradışı hikayesi
1972 yılında Yozgat’ta kurulan bira fabrikası, uzun bir dönem boyunca kentin ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel yaşamına önemli etkilerde bulundu.Yüzlerce işçinin istihdam edildiği fabrika aynı zamanda kentteki esnaf ve nakliyecilere ciddi bir ekonomik getiri sağlıyordu.
Ayrıca Yozgat ve çevre illerden çiftçiler fabrikaya arpa satıyordu.
Bazı kesimlerin “içki haram” diyerek eleştirdiği fabrikaya kent sakinlerinin önemli bir bölümü ise ekonomik getirisi olan bir yatırım gözüyle yaklaşıyordu.
Burada üretilen bira, farklı kentlere gönderiliyor ve kullanıcılar tarafından kaliteli bir bira olarak görülüyordu.
2004 yılında TEKEL’in içki fabrikalarının blok halinde özelleştirilmesiyle bu fabrika da özelleştirilmiş oldu.
2007’de ise üretime ara verildi. Bunun da kentteki yaşama derin etkileri oldu.
BBC Türkçe ekibi, Yozgat Bira Fabrikası’nın on yıllara yayılan hikayesini Yozgat’ta araştırdı.
