¿Sabías que Fidel Castro, el líder que exigía austeridad absoluta a su pueblo y clamaba contra los excesos del capitalismo solía llevar dos relojes Rolex en la misma muñeca? Hay fotografías que lo confirman: Castro solía llevar un GMT-Master y un Submariner. Las explicaciones varían: la más repetida es que uno marcaba la hora de La Habana y el otro la de Moscú; él mismo dijo en alguna ocasión que era por seguridad operativa (por si uno fallaba). En cualquier caso, el contraste con el discurso oficial es innegable.Durante más de seis décadas, Cuba ha languidecido bajo un sistema que es mucho más que una dictadura comunista tradicional. Es un feudo profundamente personalista, diseñado y operado a la medida de una sola estirpe: la familia Castro. Nos vendieron la epopeya romántica de unos idealistas barbudos, pero la verdadera historia es la de una maquinaria implacable construida para conservar el poder familiar a cualquier precio.
