Firstpost Spotlight: Israeli PM Netanyahu Sends Tanks To West Bank, Jenin on Edge Amid Gaza Truce | N18GIsrael has sent its military tanks into the occupied West Bank for the first time since 2002. This comes as Israel expands its operations in the Palestinian territory. The Israeli Defence Forces deployed a tank platoon in Jenin, which has long been a flashpoint between Palestinians and Israel. Hamas called Israel's decision of sending tanks into the West Bank a dangerous escalation. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry also called it a continuation of Israel's genocide. This comes as a part of Israel's military campaign named "Operation Iron Wall". Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to intensify operations in the West Bank after a series of bus explosions near Tel Aviv last week. The latest escalation comes as Israel indefinitely postponed the release of 620 Palestinian prisoners from its jails, despite Hamas freeing 6 Israeli hostages a day earlier.
