En la tarde del 31 de mayo, el presidente chino, Xi Jinping,se reunió en el Gran Palacio del Pueblo en Beijing con el rey Hamadbin Isa Al Khalifa de Baréin, quien se encontraba en una visita de Estado a China y asistió a la ceremonia de apertura de la X Conferencia Ministerial del Foro de Cooperación China-Estados Árabes.Xi Jinping dijo: "Le doy una gran bienvenida a su majestad el rey Hamad y a la delegación de Baréin en su visita de Estado a China y en su participación en la ceremonia de apertura de la X Conferencia Ministerial del Foro de Cooperación China-Estados Árabes. Es un placer recibirlo en Beijing. Usted es un viejo amigo del pueblo chino y siempre ha concedido gran importancia al desarrollo de las relaciones con China, lo cual aprecio mucho. Esta es su segunda visita a China en 11 años, lo cual es de gran importancia para promover el desarrollo de las relaciones entre China y Baréin.”
El rey Hamadbin Isa Al Khalifa dijo:"Estimado presidente Xi Jinping, estamos encantados de aceptar su invitación para visitar este gran país, China. Bahréin y China tienen una amistad profunda, de la que estamos muy orgullosos.
