I walked 110 km in bol bam Yatra (Bihar)

For the first time, I embarked on a very special journey with my mother and cousin. We walked approximately 110 kilometres barefoot from Sultanganj to Deoghar in Jharkhand as part of the sacred Bol Bam Yatra. 🙏

This is not an ordinary journey. Every year, thousands of devotees undertake this pilgrimage to collect holy water from the Ganga River at Sultanganj and carry it all the way to Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.

Our journey took four days, walking barefoot through villages, highways, crowded roads, and challenging weather conditions. It was physically exhausting, but the experience was something truly special. Walking alongside my mother, sharing this spiritual journey, meeting fellow devotees, and witnessing the incredible faith of thousands of people made it an unforgettable experience.

Throughout the journey, we experienced the real spirit of Bihar and Jharkhand, the devotion of the Kanwariyas, the energy of the Bol Bam chants, and the kindness of strangers who came together for one common purpose.

Having travelled to every country in the world, this journey reminded me that some of the most meaningful experiences are waiting right here at home. This time, it wasn’t about exploring a new country. It was about faith, family, culture, and reconnecting with my roots.
