Sebelumnya, mereka juga telah meluncurkan jet F-16 buatan AS.
Keterlibatan Gripen dalam operasi militer Thailand ini sekaligus menandakan "debut" jet tempur buatan Swedia itu di medan perang.
Selama ini, jet tersebut hanya digunakan dalam misi international tanpa menyerang target musuh.
Dikutip dari Tribunenews.com pada Senin (28/7/2025), jet tempur itu dirancang agar bisa lepas landas dan mendarat di jalan raya.
Sementara penerbangannya hanya membutuhkan landasan sepanjang 800 meter.
Membutuhkan sekitar 20 menit untuk menyerang sasaran di darat.
Jangkauan terbang Gripen memang kalah daripada F-16, yakni hanya sejauh 3.200 kilometer.
Pesawat ini mampu melakukan operasi perang yang berpusat pada jaringan.
Sehingga, memungkinkan pertukaran informasi secara real-time antara platform udara, laut, dan darat.
Saat ini, baik Thailand maupun Kamboja masih sama-sama meluncurkan serangan di perbatasan.
Meski demikian, Presiden Amerika Serikat (AS) Donald Trump menyebut, keduanya akan segera bertemu untuk melakukan perundingan.
