India’s dosa has officially crashed the global pancake party. Food guide TasteAtlas ranked masala dosa sixth on its May 2026 list of the world’s 50 best pancakes, giving the crispy South Indian favourite a 4.3-star rating. Regular dosa placed 14th, while paper dosa landed at 35th. Unlike sweet pancakes loaded with syrup and cream, dosa stood out for its savoury, fermented flavour and spicy kick. The rankings also highlighted India’s growing global food influence. According to Swiggy, Indians ordered veg dosa more than 26 million times in 2025, proving the beloved breakfast is now a worldwide culinary star.---
