(LaPresse) In queste settimane in cui l’Italia è alle prese con ondate di calore e temperature estreme, Essere Animali è tornata a monitorare i camion carichi di animali vivi che vengono trasportati anche durante le ore più calde della giornata, in particolare i suini pesanti destinati alla filiera DOP. Quest’anno, per la prima volta in Italia, l’associazione ha utilizzato una termocamera che mostra con estrema chiarezza lo stress termico a cui sono sottoposti i maiali in attesa di entrare nei macelli. La strumentazione utilizzata ha registrato temperature interne ai camion fino a 45 gradi. In totale gli attivisti hanno monitorato circa dieci camion per ogni macello, per un totale stimato di circa 15 mila maiali (1.500 per stabilimento). Tutti gli animali osservati mostravano segni riconducibili a stress termico.
