Il Faro di Napoli, ecco come saranno le due TorriA spiegare le caratteristiche del progetto è stato Michele Pasca di Magliano, direttore dello studio Zaha Hadid Architects di Londra, che ha vinto il bando per il progetto della nuova sede della Regione Campania a Napoli.
L'architetto ha sottolineato che «è strutturato da due torri - ha spiegato - di altezze diverse, la Torre 1 è alta circa 100 metri, la 2 circa 80 metri, e sono collegati da questa grande piazza urbana coperta, collegata a sua volta al centro interscambi, che è al piano 2 interrato. Ospita tutta una serie di funzioni pubbliche, zone e centri congressi, sale polifunzionali e anche le zone commerciali per mantenere la piazza attiva e viva per i cittadini, collegata anche al nuovo parco e alla città. La Torre 1 è quella che abbiamo destinato prevalentemente agli uffici della Regione, mentre la Torre 2 avrà tutta una serie di società che sono interne alla Regione e però mantengono più relazioni esterne. Il progetto è stato fatto in collaborazione con progettisti napoletani e inglesi, quindi è un vero team di progettazione internazionale, con conoscenza sia delle ultime tendenze nella progettazione architettonica, sia della realtà del territorio. Ci sarà un faro, perché è un segno che si vede dal mare ed è un segnale di speranza per i navigatori, da una città persa che si deve ritrovare. Il Faro ha all'ultimo piano un giardino che sarà illuminato di notte, quindi effettivamente sarà un elemento illuminante per la città. Abbiamo fatto uno studio delle luci, dell'illuminazione della torre, e quindi abbiamo studiato anche il suo aspetto notturno, quando il sole tramonta e il faro si illumina». (Corriere Tv).
