President Trump met with the FIFA World Cup 2026 Task Force in the Oval Office on Monday. The World Cup is slated to take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico next year.Trump was joined by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, among others.
Infantino announced what will be called the "FIFA Pass," which will give World Cup ticket holders from around the world prioritized appointments to get visas to attend the tournament. Trump said that his administration is working to make sure attendees are properly vetted, and leave the country in a timely manner.
Trump said the World Cup will drive "more than $30 billion" into the economy and "create nearly 200,000 jobs."
The World Cup draw will be held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. next year.
Trump then took questions from reporters, who asked about the release of the Epstein Files, trade negotiations, possible action in Venezuela and more.
