Israel Diverts Gaza-Bound Aid Boat Madleen Carrying Greta Thunberg to Ashdod | N18GA Gaza-bound aid boat with Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and other activists onboard, was intercepted by Israeli forces on Monday morning (June 9). The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which organised the mission, stated that Israeli forces "forcibly intercepted" the vessel in international water as it neared Gaza. A pre-recorded video shared by the coalition showed Thunberg saying, "If you see this video we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters." Following the interception, Israel's foreign ministry posted a video on X showing activists all in orange life jackets being offered water and sandwiches. Israel's foreign ministry has branded the vessel as a "selfie yacht" carrying "less than a single truckload of aid".
