Seorang komandan lapangan dari Perlawanan Islam Irak mengatakan akan ada eskalasi besar-besaran jika perang skala penuh di Lebanon.
Mengutip Al Arabiya pada Kamis (4/7/2024), komandan yang identitasnya disamarkan itu mengatakan kelompok yang didukung Irak tersebut telah mengirim "pakar dan penasihat" ke Lebanon.
Ilmuwan politik Irak Ali al-Baidar setuju bahwa perang besar antara Israel dan Hizbullah Lebanon , jika itu terjadi, "tidak akan terbatas pada wilayah Lebanon."
Ia menilai di Irak dan di kawasan itu kelompok bersenjata akan memasuki konfrontasi.
Para militan dinilai tak hanya menunjukan kemampuan tetapi kesetiaan pada sekutu mereka.
Perang Gaza paling berdarah yang pernah terjadi terjadi ketika kelompok militan Palestina Hamas menyerang Israel selatan pada 7 Oktober.
Konflik dengan cepat meluas hingga melibatkan beberapa kelompok bersenjata pro-Iran dalam apa yang disebut "Poros Perlawanan" yang menyatakan solidaritas dengan Palestina dan menuntut diakhirinya serangan Israel di Gaza.
Aliansi tersebut mencakup Hizbullah Lebanon dan Houthi Yaman, yang telah menyerang Israel dan pengiriman yang terkait dengan Israel , tetapi juga kelompok bersenjata di Suriah dan Irak.
