Wie gefährlich sind psychisch kranke Menschen, und wie lässt sich frühzeitig erkennen, ob von jemandem eine Gefahr für solche Taten ausgeht? Anfang Mai starben bei einer Amokfahrt in Leipzig zwei Menschen. Der Täter soll an einer Psychose gelitten haben. Kurz vor der Tat war er in einer psychiatrischen Klinik behandelt worden. Solche Taten sorgen für Aufsehen. Weniger bekannt ist der Fall einer Frau, die im Umfeld des Leipziger Hauptbahnhofs immer wieder auf Passanten losging. Sie soll unter paranoider Schizophrenie leiden, ist polizeibekannt – dennoch konnte sie immer wieder völlig Unbekannte teils schwer verletzen.Rund 800.000 Menschen in Deutschland haben die Diagnose Schizophrenie – doch nur bei einem Bruchteil führen die Diagnose und vor allem äußere Umstände zu Gefährlichkeit. Der Autor Knud Vetten hat mit Experten gesprochen, Opfer getroffen und Erkrankte, die jeweils die Diskussion um psychisch kranke Täter und die Erkrankung selbst sehr unterschiedlich sehen.
