FDP-BEBEN: Weg frei für Wolfgang Kubicki! Parteichef Christian Dürr verzichtet auf WiederwahlDer amtierende FDP-Chef Christian Dürr verzichtet auf seine geplante erneute Kandidatur für den Parteivorsitz beim Parteitag Ende Mai und unterstützt stattdessen Wolfgang Kubicki. "Herr Dürr wird nicht mehr kandidieren", bestätigte die Kommunikationsleiterin des Bundesvorsitzenden der Nachrichtenagentur AFP am Sonntag. Der "Bild"-Zeitung sagte Dürr, er unterstütze den früheren Bundestagsvizepräsident und stellvertretenden FDP-Chef Kubicki. An dessen Kandidatur regt sich allerdings auch Kritik.
"Ich habe keinen Zweifel daran, dass die FDP wieder erfolgreich sein wird. Die Voraussetzung ist eine geschlossene Formation", sagte Dürr laut "Bild"-Zeitung." Ich leiste meinen Beitrag dazu, unterstütze Wolfgang Kubicki und werde nicht antreten."
"Ich will vor allem, dass unser Land wieder nach vorne kommt", sagte Dürr weiter. "Dafür braucht es eine starke FDP mit klaren Positionen für Marktwirtschaft und Freiheit. Wolfgang hat das Zeug dazu, das zu schaffen."
Kubicki hatte zuvor erklärt, als neuer Parteivorsitzender der Liberalen kandidieren zu wollen. "Ich will eine Partei, die mit neuem Selbstbewusstsein die politischen Debatten in diesem Land anführt, statt ihnen hinterherzulaufen", schrieb Kubicki im Onlinedienst X. Er werde "den Delegierten meiner Partei im Mai ein Angebot machen, bei dem sie sicher sein können: Ich werde alles tun, die Partei wieder erfolgreich zu machen."
