Non si ferma il maxi incendio partito nei giorni scorsi sul monte Faeta, in Lucchesia, e che giovedì pomeriggio ha raggiunto il versante pisano, minacciando Asciano, frazione del comune di San Giuliano Terme (Pisa), dove nel cuore della notte a causa dell'aumento delle raffiche di vento che ha spinto le fiamme ancora più forte è stata emesso un nuovo ordine di evacuazione per tutti i residenti della zona fino alla strada provinciale 30 nota come la «Lungomonte»: il provvedimento riguarda circa 3500 persone. Squadre di terra di vigili del fuoco e volontari di protezione civile hanno fronteggiato il fuoco per tutta la notte. Con un aggiornamento video alle 6 di venerdì mattina, il sindaco di San Giuliano Terme Mattteo Cecchelli conferma come nella notte sia stata “sgomberata larga parte del paese di Asciano, a causa del forte vento che ha avvicinato il fuoco alle case, rendendo la situazione pericolosa. Le persone sono tutte in salvo, accolte nei centri di accoglienza predisposti nella struttura del “pallone” e nella palestra di Ghezzano”. “Adesso – aggiunge il primo cittadino – inizia una nuova giornata, nella quale è atteso ancora forte vento. Sono stati predisposti posti di blocco, per evitare che i cittadini ritornino sulle strade del paese e rallentino le operazioni delle squadre di soccorso, che oggi dovranno lavorare sodo per bloccare questo incendio”.
