RUSSICHE JETS ÜBER ESTLAND: Droht jetzt die große NATO-Konfrontation? | WELT STREAMNach der mutmaßlichen Verletzung des Luftraums über Estland durch russische Kampfjets kommt der UN-Sicherheitsrat am Montag (16.00 Uhr) zu einer Sondersitzung zusammen. Am Freitag waren nach estnischen Angaben drei MiG-31-Jets der russischen Luftwaffe nahe der Insel Vaindloo über dem Finnischen Meerbusen in den estnischen Luftraum vorgedrungen und dort insgesamt zwölf Minuten geblieben. An der Nato-Luftraumüberwachung über Estland beteiligte F-35-Kampfjets der italienischen Luftwaffe fingen die Flugzeuge nach Angaben der Allianz ab. Russland bestritt eine Verletzung des estnischen Luftraums.
Auch der Nato-Rat wird sich auf Antrag Estlands zu Wochenbeginn mit dem Vorfall befassen. Artikel 4 des Nato-Vertrags sieht Beratungen unter den Nato-Mitgliedern für den Fall vor, dass ein Mitgliedstaat seine territoriale Integrität, Unabhängigkeit oder Sicherheit bedroht sieht.
