GitHub Copilot Harness in Copilot Studio | Now Generally Available
GitHub Copilot harness for Microsoft Copilot Studio is now Generally Available, and it changes how you build agents and workflows. In this video, I walk through what's new in the revamped Copilot Studio UI, why Microsoft renamed this experience the "GitHub Copilot harness," and how it compares to the classic/standard harness you've been building on until now. I also run a live demo with my own Sales Insight agent — connected to SharePoint List and Document Library knowledge sources — to show natural language prompting, skills, and one-click Excel export in action.Microsoft says the GitHub Copilot harness is built for complex, long-horizon, reasoning-heavy work. It uses frontier reasoning models, can plan and reason through dynamic problems, run agentic loops, use skills, integrate workflows, connect to tools and connected agents on the platform, and produce rich, multi-part output — things the standard harness and classic Copilot Studio agents simply couldn't do out of the box.
