India 'Categorically Rejects' EU-Pakistan Remarks on Jammu and Kashmir | Nepal Border

The Indian government has categorically rejected unwarranted references to Jammu and Kashmir in a recent joint statement by the European Union and Pakistan. Emphasising that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of the country, the government stated that entities with no locus standi should refrain from commenting on internal matters. Addressing the India-Nepal boundary issue following remarks by the Nepalese Prime Minister, the government clarified that while nearly 98 percent of the border is demarcated, unresolved segments remain due to the shifting course of the Gandak River. It firmly ruled out any third-party mediation, asserting that bilateral mechanisms are handling cross-border occupation.

Responding to reports of Indian nationals facing deportation from the United States, the government reiterated its stance against illegal immigration, confirming ongoing cooperation with American authorities to verify nationalities and facilitate deportations. Additionally, the government announced the upcoming visit of the Acting President of Venezuela, focusing on energy security, trade, and dividends owed to Indian public sector undertakings. The briefing also highlighted upcoming bilateral engagements with the United Kingdom regarding a free trade agreement, water-sharing mechanism discussions with Bangladesh, and India's continued advocacy for dialogue and diplomacy amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
