Korban diketahui bernama Khairuddin (65) yang ditemukan dalam kondisi bersimbah darah.
Jasad Khairuddin mengeluarkan darah dari bagian mulut dan telinga.
Diduga kuat akibat hantaman benda tumpul.
Kapolres Aceh Barat, AKBP Yoghi Hadisetiawan melalui Kasat Reskrim AKP Robby Afrizal membenarkan terkait dugaan pembunuhan tersebut.
Namun pihaknya kini tengah melakukan penyelidikan mendalam.
Salah satu fakta mencurigakan adalah hilangnya satu unit mobil milik korban.
Diduga kuat mobil korban dibawa kabur oleh pelaku seusai melakukan aksinya.
“Kami sudah memeriksa tiga orang saksi yang bekerja sebagai tukang bangunan di rumah korban. Saat ini, pengejaran terhadap pelaku juga sedang dilakukan,” ujar AKP Robby.
Menurut keterangan warga sekitar, tidak terdengar tanda-tanda perkelahian sebelum jasad ditemukan.
Polisi pun kini telah memasang garis polisi di seluruh area rumah untuk mengamankan lokasi dan mencari bukti tambahan.
Sementara itu jenazah korban dibawa ke RSUD Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh untuk dilakukan autopsi.
Hingga kini pihak kepolisian belum dapat memastikan motif pembunuhan.
Namun hilangnya mobil korban menimbulkan dugaan bahwa pelaku telah merencanakan aksinya dengan matang.
“Segala kemungkinan sedang kami dalami, termasuk dugaan perampokan yang disertai pembunuhan,” tambah AKP Robby.
