La guerre entre la Chine et Taïwan est déjà lancée. Une guerre d’influence, qui se joue en ligne et touche particulièrement la jeunesse taïwanaise, hyperconnectée. Au-delà des collectes de données et des campagnes de désinformation, cette Gen Z est abreuvée chaque jour de milliers de vidéos virales en provenance de Chine continentale. Cinéma, musique, humour… La culture chinoise envahit les écrans taïwanais, abolit les frontières, et pourrait bien faire basculer l’opinion. De récents sondages montrent d’ailleurs une fracture au sein de la jeune génération à Taïwan. Une majorité soutient toujours l’indépendance, mais les voix discordantes sont en hausse. Les jeunes sont aussi de plus en plus nombreux à se sentir “taïwanais et chinois”. Un décrochage inédit dans une société où l’affirmation identitaire semblait jusque-là suivre une trajectoire ascensionnelle claire, génération après génération. Mais le softpower chinois frappe de plus en plus fort et Pékin tisse sa toile au cœur de la Gen Z.
