Staatskrise in Polen: Streit um Reform der Justiz eskaliert

Polen steckt in einer Staatskrise. Seit Tagen demonstrieren beide politischen Lager. Die längst abgewählte rechtskonservative PiS-Regierung hatte die obersten Gerichte gefügig gemacht und mit Parteigängern besetzt. Seit drei Jahren versucht Ministerpräsident Tusk die Unabhängigkeit der polnischen Justiz wiederherzustellen. Und scheitert dabei am Staatspräsidenten, der sich weigert, vom Parlament beschlossene Gesetze zu unterschreiben und gewählte Richter:innen zu vereidigen.

Seit Tusk vor einer Woche die Gerichtsspitze absetzte, ist der Machtkampf zwischen Regierung und Opposition eskaliert. Das ist auch bei dem Besuch von Roberta Metsola, Präsidentin des Europäischen Parlaments, zu spüren. Denn Polens Rechtsaußen-Opposition nutzt ihren Auftritt im polnischen Parlament für eine Provokation gegen den Regierungschef.
