Nazlı sayesinde kötü günleri atlatmaya çalışan Ali, bu kez daha ağır bir darbeyle sarsılır. Babası gibi sevdiği Adil Hoca, ansızın hastanede düşüp bayılır. Yapılan tetkikte durumun vahameti bütün çıplaklığıyla ortaya çıkar; Adil çok ağır hastadır. Adil’i seven herkes çaresiz kalırken Ali bir çözüm bulmak için kendini paralar. Sonunda anlar ki; tek kurtuluş, yıllar önce öldüğünü sandığımız birinin elindedir...
Ali, taşra bir şehirde büyümüş yoksul bir ailenin oğludur. Sahip olduğu otizm ve savant sendromundan dolayı çevresi tarafından sürekli dışlanmış, ötekileştirilmiştir. İletişim kurmakta zorluk çeken Ali'nin hayatında iki dostu vardır. Biri abisi, ikincisi de tavşanı. İkisini de sırayla kaybeden Ali, tek bir temennide bulunur: İnsanlar ölmesin. Abisinin ölümünden sonra babası tarafından evlatlıktan reddedilen Ali, yetimhanede büyür. Savant sendromu nedeniyle tıp konusundaki yetenekleri muaazzam olan Ali'yi keşfeden Doktor Adil, Ali'ye göz kulak olur. Tıp fakültesini kazanan ve birincilikle bitiren Ali, Doktor Adil'in başhekim olduğu hastanede asistan cerrah olarak işe başlar. Hastane yönetimindeki birkaç kişi Ali'nin hastalığı nedeniyle bu işe uygun olmadığını söylese de Doktor Adil, Ali'nin arkasında durarak onu işe aldırır. Ali, hastanede geçirdiği süre içinde etrafındaki herkesi değiştirecektir.
