America Reeks of Anti-India Hate? Rep Krishnamoorthi on Hindu Temple Attack Plot | Firspost America
A suspected mass shooting plot targeting a Hindu temple in Aurora, Illinois, has raised fresh concerns over anti-Indian hate crimes in the United States. Prosecutors allege that 19-year-old Alexandros Paporakis planned the attack, but his rifle malfunctioned and a co-worker alerted police. The incident has drawn concern from India’s Ministry of External Affairs and renewed scrutiny of racism, religious intolerance and the safety of Indian-American communities. In an interview, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi discusses the alleged plot, security at Hindu places of worship, the role of social media and political rhetoric, and the impact of immigration, the cost of living and the Iran war on the upcoming US midterm elections.
