JAKARTA, KOMPASTV - Sekelompok aktivis berhadapan dengan seorang petugas terlihat mendorong seorang demonstran pada Minggu (8/6/2025).Departemen Keamanan Dalam Negeri AS mengatakan petugas penegak hukum hanya melakukan tugas mereka.
"Kekerasan dan intimidasi terhadap penegak hukum federal akan dituntut seberat-beratnya sesuai hukum. Amerika Serikat adalah negara hukum, dan pelanggar hukum akan diadili," kata Departemen Keamanan Dalam Negeri AS dilansir dari Viralpress/AP.
Protes sebagai tanggapan atas tindakan penegakan hukum oleh Imigrasi dan Penegakan Bea Cukai AS atau Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Para pejabat mengonfirmasi bahwa operasi tersebut mengakibatkan sedikitnya 118 penangkapan di wilayah tersebut.
Penangkapan tersebut memicu reaksi keras dari kelompok masyarakat, dengan lebih dari 300 aktivis hak imigran berkumpul di Los Angeles untuk berdemonstrasi.
Penegak hukum di Los Angeles menggunakan gas air mata, peluru karet, dan granat kejut untuk mengendalikan protes.
