SPD, Grüne und FDP hatten sich Ende 2021 als neue Regierung viel vorgenommen: Ein Aufbruch für Deutschland sollte es werden. Doch dann beginnt nur drei Monate später der Krieg in der Ukraine - und verursacht Milliarden Zusatzkosten.Doch die FDP hält an der Schuldenbremse fest - die Schulden von heute seien die Steuern und Zinsen von morgen, sagt etwa der Bundestagsabgeordnete Jens Teutrine.
Weite Teile der SPD hingegen wollen die Schuldenbremse aussetzen und dafür eine Ausnahmeregelung nutzen, nämlich: eine Haushaltsnotlage wegen des Ukrainekriegs und Kosten durch Flutkatastrophen erklären. Dafür ist auch der SPD-Bundestagsabgeordnete Tim Klüssendorf - denn eine ausgesetzte Schuldenbremse schaffe Spielräume in zweistelliger Milliardenhöhe.
