Pernyataan ini disampaikan untuk meluruskan informasi yang dinilai simpang siur dan menyeret nama Partai Demokrat dalam kasus dugaan ijazah palsu Presiden ke-7 RI Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Menurut Hinca, yang merupakan Sekjen Partai Demokrat periode 2015–2020 mengetahui dengan jelas riwayat hubungan Roy Suryo dengan partai.
Hinca menegaskan bahwa proses pengunduran diri Roy Suryo terjadi dalam masa kepemimpinannya sebagai sekretaris jenderal, yakni antara tahun 2015 hingga 2020.
Sebab itu, ia menegaskan Partai Demokrat tidak terkait dengan Roy Suryo.
"Sekali lagi saya menegaskan, jangan ditarik-tarik. Roy Suryo enggak ada hubungannya dengan Partai Demokrat dan karena itu Demokrat tidak ada hubungannya dengan kasus ijazah palsu," ucapnya.(*)
