Gencatan senjata antara Iran dan Israel mulai berlaku pada Selasa (24/6/2025), setelah pengumuman oleh Presiden Amerika Serikat (AS) Donald Trump.
Eskalasi paling serius hingga saat ini antara musuh bebuyutan itu meletus pada 13 Juni 2025, ketika Israel meluncurkan kampanye pengeboman di Iran yang menewaskan komandan militer dan ilmuwan tinggi yang terkait dengan program nuklirnya yang disengketakan.
Israel mengatakan tujuannya adalah untuk mencegah Republik Islam itu mengembangkan senjata nuklir - sebuah ambisi yang secara konsisten dibantah Teheran, bersikeras bahwa mereka memiliki hak untuk mengembangkan tenaga nuklir untuk keperluan sipil seperti energi.
Pertempuran itu menggagalkan perundingan nuklir antara Iran dan Amerika Serikat, sekutu setia Israel.
"Kami tidak memulai perang, tetapi kami telah menanggapi agresor dengan seluruh kekuatan kami," kata kepala staf angkatan bersenjata Iran, Abdolrahim Mousavi, Minggu (29/6/2025), seperti diberitakan Al Arabiya.
"Kami memiliki keraguan serius atas kepatuhan musuh terhadap komitmennya termasuk gencatan senjata, kami siap untuk menanggapi dengan kekuatan jika diserang lagi," jelasnya.
