Sebagai negara pendukung Israel, Prancis menilai tindakan tersebut tidak dapat dibenarkan.
Dalam video, sejumlah anggota parlemen sayap kiri terlihat mengenakan pakaian berwarna hijau, hitam, merah, dan putih.
Warna-warna tersebut mewakili bendera Palestina.
Presiden Majelis Nasional, Yael Braun-Pivet menyindir pakaian mereka yang dinilai tidak merepresentasikan sikap Prancis.
Di awal sesi pertanyaan, anggota parlemen sayap kiri bernama Rachel Keke nekat mengibarkan bendera Palestina.
Suasana sidang pun mendadak riuh dan Presiden Majelis Nasional berusaha menghentikan aksi tersebut.
"Tidak, tidak, tidak, tidak, tidak," kata Yael Braun-Pivet, dikutip dari Le Monde, Rabu (5/6/2024).
Ia kemudian meminta agar Keke diberi sanksi, sama seperti rekannya Sebastien Delogu yang pro-Palestina.
Prancis memang secara terbuka mendukung Israel sejak perang Gaza dimulai Oktober 2023.
Namun, anggota parlemen sayap kiri terus mengkritik pemerintah sebagai bentuk solidaritas terhadap Palestina.
