Genç bir subayken, görevli olarak gittiği Amerika’da ilk kez karşılaştığı tuhaf ama dikkat çekici bu hava taşıtlarını, 60 yaşında emekli bir general olarak hayatının odak noktası haline getiriyor, Ferdinand von Zeppelin. Hava gemilerine dair var olan her şeyi bir adım ileri taşımak için çıktığı yolun sonunda, kıtalar arası yolculuk kavramının geri dönülmez şekilde değişeceğini ve en nihayetinde bu ihtişamlı taşıtların Zeplin adıyla anılacağını bilmeden.
