Un Rav israélien, connu pour son éloquence, est invité à donner un cours pour une Bar-Mitsva. Il comprend rapidement que la famille est loin d’être religieuse et prépare un cours simple sur les bénédictions et la manière de se tenir à table selon la Torah. Le jour venu, il découvre une assemblée très éloignée du judaïsme, certains hommes portant une serviette en papier en guise de kippa. Il félicite le Bar-Mitsva, lui donne une bénédiction puis explique que la Torah demande aussi une manière de manger avec pudeur et retenue, et que cela apporte la Parnassa. À la fin, un homme non pratiquant l’aborde et avoue être touché par ce sujet, surtout parce qu’il vient de perdre son travail. Le Rav l’encourage à progresser spirituellement. Des années plus tard, dans la même ville, un homme religieux vient saluer le Rav. C’est le même individu, totalement transformé. Le Rav étonné lui demande comment il en est arrivé là. L’homme raconte que le cours du Rav avait éveillé quelque chose en lui.
