Polisi menetapkan Risman (33), seorang petani asal Dusun Urubanua, sebagai tersangka pada Minggu (21/9), setelah berhasil menangkapnya kurang dari 24 jam pasca penemuan jasad korban.
Penetapan tersangka dilakukan setelah penyidik mengumpulkan bukti kuat dari hasil penyelidikan.
Korban ditemukan tewas mengenaskan di kebun kelapa milik warga Dusun Tangga-Tangga pada Sabtu (20/9) pagi.
Hasil penyelidikan menunjukkan korban terakhir kali terlihat bersama Risman, suami salah satu nasabah PNM yang didatangi korban untuk menagih angsuran.
Dalam perjalanan pulang, keduanya terlibat adu mulut hingga pelaku kalap dan menganiaya korban hingga meninggal dunia.
Pelaku bahkan melepas celana korban untuk mempermalukan jasadnya sebelum meninggalkannya di lokasi kejadian.
Penangkapan cepat ini memberi kelegaan bagi warga yang sempat dihebohkan oleh kasus tersebut.
Polisi kini menahan Risman untuk pemeriksaan lebih lanjut dan proses hukum.
