I walked vibrant streets and local culture of Kaohsiung. While exploring the heart of the city, I love discovering authentic local experiences beyond the usual tourist spots, and nothing beats stepping into a neighborhood barbershop. That’s where I met Taime, a wonderfully skilled Taiwanese female barber who welcomed me into her shop for a true local grooming session.
I wanted to try something extra fun for this trip: I asked Taime to wash my hair and style it like a handsome Taiwanese man! She took on the challenge with incredible precision, working her magic to give me a complete makeover and a sharp new look.
Traveling through Taiwan continuously blows me away with how welcoming the people are and how far your money goes when you stick to authentic local spots. Getting a full, relaxing hair wash and a custom hair styling in the center of Kaohsiung for just $4 USD (130 NTD) is an unbelievable deal. Experiences like this are why I love travel vlogging.
