Sanayici ve Banker İskender Bey, Çeşme’de tatildeyken kotra kazasında ölür. Sigorta şirketi bu ölümün cinayet olabileceği şüphesiyle Müfettiş Ahmet’i olayı araştırması için görevlendirir. Ahmet kalp hastasıdır. Doktoru, Ahmet’e bir mucize gerçekleşmediği sürece bir ay ömrü kaldığını söyler. Ahmet gün geçtikçe ölüme yaklaştığını hissetmektedir. Çeşme’de halkın çok sevdiği bir doktor olan Zeynep’le tanışan Ahmet’in hayata bakışı değişir. Fakat Zeynep’in sevgisi Ahmet’i hayatta tutmaya yetmeyecektir.
