UN offering incentives for Syrian refugees in Lebanon to return home
The United Nations has begun to provide Syrian refugees in Lebanon with financial incentives to return home.The plan is endorsed by the Lebanese government months after a change in leadership in Damascus.
Between 200,000-400,000 people are expected to be repatriated by the end of the year – that’s about a quarter of the refugee population in Lebanon.
But refugees are worried about recurring outbreaks of violence and the lack of housing.
