Colombia declara el estado de catástrofe nacional ante los riesgos del fenómeno meteorológico

El presidente colombiano, Gustavo Petro, afirmó este viernes que su Gobierno ha declarado el estado de catástrofe nacional por un periodo de 12 meses en respuesta a las amenazas que plantea el fenómeno meteorológico de El Niño. Petro advirtió de que el país se enfrentará a una megasequía que afectará a gran parte del territorio nacional entre diciembre de 2026 y marzo de 2027, y añadió que es muy probable que Colombia nunca haya experimentado antes una sequía de esta magnitud. El decreto incluye la creación de un fondo de respuesta a emergencias, un plan de acción para promover la conservación del agua y medidas para reforzar la seguridad alimentaria en las regiones más vulnerables. Las autoridades han destacado múltiples riesgos, entre los que se incluyen una fuerte disminución de los recursos hídricos, pérdidas generalizadas de cultivos y ganado, interrupciones en la generación de energía, un aumento de los incendios forestales y crecientes preocupaciones en materia de salud pública. #Clima #xw #Colombia
