It’s not a polished edit, but I wanted to keep my weekly consistency, and I think the message is worth your time.
In this video, I break down why investing in yourself, whether with time, energy or money, pays off in the long run. I walk through my own path: studying abroad in New Zealand at 18 and learning independence early, using a gap year to become a certified ski instructor, and funding a private business university master’s through a scholarship and a loan. I also cover what working at a startup and a consultancy taught me, including the fact that a job is a bit like dating, because it takes three to six months to know if it’s right for you. I then explain how a year of daily effort, with almost nothing to show for it in the first six to nine months, led to growing the channel.
The main idea is the difference between a cost and an investment. Learning how to learn stays with you for life, and when money or energy is short, you can still invest time by showing up consistently. Next week, I’ll cover the different types of exam questions and how to prepare for each.
